Advent and Christmas 2023 for children, youth and their families.

St. Andrew’s Ottawa has plenty of ways to make the Advent and Christmas seasons
meaningful this year.

Worship and Sunday School

Worship on Sundays at 10:30am will include a puppet show during children’s time and Sunday School will have special Christmasy activities to go with the stories in our two classes. It’s a great time of year to invite a friend to church!

If you’d like to help with the puppet show in worship, either by colouring them ahead of time, or reading a part, please let Rev. Heather know. ce@standrewsottawa.ca

Devotionals and Calendars to help you reflect daily on the meaning of Christ’s coming are available for pick up in Grant Hall on Sundays. If you’d like one mailed to you, please let Rev. Heather know.

Countdown To Christmas booklets are geared for ages 4-10 and they will delight the whole family with their rhyming reflections and stickers for each day of December.

The Sanctified Art devotionals are geared for adults and older youth with artwork, music and journalling questions for each week of Advent. There is also a daily activity calendar sheet that older youth will find engaging.

This wonderful book by Traci Smith was given to St. Andrew’s families during the pandemic. It has all kinds of prayers and spiritual practices that are accessible for all ages. I have a few more copies if you didn’t get one before.

Christmas Lunch Dec. 10

Come and enjoy a delicious meal with your church friends after worship. There will be carolling and crafts for different ages afterwards. Contact the office if you’d like to attend office@standrewsottawa.ca

Christmas Eve Pageant
We worship on Dec. 24th at 5:00pm this year to watch the nativity story come alive with actors from the Sunday School. It’s early enough to get home at a kid-friendly hour and late enough for the candles to shine in the magic of night.

Parts are still available if you’d like to get involved as an actor or backstage. Contact koko.agborsangaya@gmail.com.

Colouring Poster

If you like to colour, find the table in Grant Hall after worship on Sundays and any other time we gather at church in Advent. It’s meditative, creative and builds community to work on a colouring project of this size together.
