Understanding Grief Better, Walking Alongside Each Other

Grief is the human response to profound loss.

Interested in understanding grief better and learning some tools for how to care for yourself, your family and your community? This winter and spring we are offering three Saturday morning breakfast gatherings just for this.

· February 8th from 9 am to 11 am at St. Andrew’s

What losses have you experienced? What helped? What didn’t?

Program: Getting to know each other over breakfast, followed by a video presentation Bridging the Grief Gap and discussion.

· March 1st from 9 am to 11:00 am at St. Andrew’s

Into the Heart of the Matter!

Program: Breakfast followed by a presentation from Compassionate Ottawa, a community movement that works to change the way we think about living well, dying, death and grief and to strengthen the capacity of people to care for each other in times of serious illness and loss. Their presentation provides an overview of the way we experience grief as human beings and how to reach out and provide support to each other.

· April 5th from 9 am to 11 am at St. Andrew’s

Walking alongside

Program: Breakfast and discussion on where we go from here. What have we learned? What might we do as individuals and a community to provide support for each other? What are our next steps together?
