White Gift Sundays

Throughout December

For the past number of years, St. Andrew’s has extended the Christmas spirit by giving to community schools.  On Sundays during December, St. Andreans place their books wrapped in white paper into book bins for the school.  Each school provides a ‘wish list’ of books for their library and the books are delivered by elves from St. Andrew’s.  In the past, books have been delivered to Centennial School, Queen Mary Street School, W. E. Gowling School, R. E. Wilson School and Connaught School.  It is wonderful to visit the school and see the new books on the shelves.  Thank you letters have been a joy to read!                                    

This year, St. Andrew’s will support the school library of Cambridge Street Community Public School on White Gift Sundays.  Cambridge is a kindergarten to grade six school.  Although many of the students were born in Canada, this K-6 school serves a predominantly multicultural population of students and families originally from locations such as China, Vietnam, Myanmar, South Asia, Middle East, Eastern Europe, Africa and South America. Grade six students leaving Cambridge Street School for middle school attend Glashan Public School or Fisher Park for grades 7 and 8. 

Baskets will be ready for books on the first Sunday in December. 

Books will be delivered to Cambridge School in January 2024. 

Please hand in gift certificates and cheques to the Church Office.
