Good morning and a blessed Saturday as I think of you and pray for you all,
The Kirk Session at St. Andrew’s has decided that worship in the sanctuary on Saturday March 15th will be cancelled. This is part of the widespread effort across the country to halt the spread of the Novel Coronavirus/Covid 19. I believe it is in line with our calling as followers of Jesus to service and care without causing harm.
We are planning to have the service available online. If you look to the right on the homepage you will find a button for coronavirus response. Pressing that will take you to a page where we will keep you updated about ongoing cancellations and postponements as our response to the virus is shaped over the coming days and weeks. On that page as well you will find links to sermon podcasts and a youtube channel where services are streamed. If it is not up right at 11 am tomorrow it should be by early afternoon. I will post the text of the sermon on the blog page of the website as well.
As our response to the virus develops we will also be posting on the facebook page and sending out emails periodically.
This is going to be hard. I am going to miss seeing you, not just on Sunday but through the week. One thing I would encourage you to think about on Sunday morning or early afternoon is to reach out by phone or email to those we would have been sitting beside in the pews or chatting to at fellowship. And you don’t have to wait until Sunday or stop then either. I plan on making a lot of phone calls in the coming week, just to chat and check in and you can reach out to me and each other too.
Going forward, Sydney and I will begin during the coming week to provide links to online materials and other suggestions that can bring Bible Study and Sunday School to your homes. Please take care of yourselves. And stay in touch.
We are praying and ask for your prayers as well,
God bless you and keep you.
Karen
